An analysis of the threats and opportunities of co-production of the Ukrainian side on the part of cooperation with the Russian Federation and with European funds for joint cinematographic production has been analyzed. The necessity of separating the Ukrainian film market from Russian in favor of integration into European cultural space by substantiating Ukraine's full participation in European Common Cinematographic Production Fund (EURIMAGES) and the MEDIA Creative Europe program are substantiated. Despite the positive developments in the domestic film industry, the growth of cinema production and budget financing, the industry remains unprofitable and does not meet the needs of the national and euro integration processes in Ukraine. There is an urgent need of the Ukrainian film industry to enter the European film market, in the form of coproduction, first of all. The article draws attention to the bureaucratic delay of the Ukrainian side in implementing the necessary measures (legislative in the first place) regarding full participation in the programs of the joint European film production. It is noted that the development of European co-production will promote access to alternative sources of financing for domestic film production, as well as the possibility of access to the European film distribution market, which will have a positive impact on its economic profitability. At the same time, the involvement of the Ukrainian side in the programs of popularization of European cinematographic products will contribute to the further development of national identity in Ukrainian society as part of the European cultural space.
