It has been emphasized that industrial policy should become an effective factor of economic reforms and a mechanism that will increase the potential of industrial production as a basis for economic growth in the long term. It was noted that the issue of the formation and implementation of industrial policy is not considered with sufficient attention at the state level. It is noted that the formation of industrial policy should take place in the context of general economic policy, one of the most important goals of which is the technological restructuring of industrial production with the approach of its structure to the parameters characteristic of post-industrial society. Another important direction of industrial policy in the context of stimulating structural shifts and modernizing the economy is the activation of investment and innovation processes. The investment of financial resources in the expansion of production in the country will contribute to the development of knowledge intensive industries, the integration of research and production in order to increase efficiency, deepening the specialization of the national economy to create products with a high share of value added.</p> <p>Branch-sector priorities of modern industrial policy are revealed, including: development of mechanical engineering, which should provide the basic principles of periodic innovation updating of the technological level of production, competitiveness of the economy and stable dynamics of economic growth; strengthening of the potential of the chemical and petrochemical industry due to the accelerated development of high-tech and high-tech industries; the development of the metallurgical industry on an innovative basis in order to overcome the structural deformations in the industry.</p&gt;}, number={2}, journal={Strategic Panorama}, author={Sobkevych, Oksana}, year={2018}, month={Aug.}, pages={106-115} }
