The article deals with the problem of shaping anew of Ukrainian national security model. The main particularities of present day model (which is transitional and increasingly crisis-generating) and general structure of the next one are defined. Triple theoretical and methodological scheme – “basis – system – instrument” for national security system’ understanding and building is put forward.
